Aggregated counts only — no names, no addresses. Open in Excel, Google Sheets, R or Python. CSV files are UTF-8 (Hebrew shul names display correctly in Excel).
⬇ All tables in one Excel file ⬇ Full public dataset (every dimension, CSV)
The ready-made files above cover all years; the button uses the date filter at the top of the page. The “full public dataset” has one row per combination of week × metric × every dimension with its count — the same data the Explorer uses, ready for pivot tables.

Methods & notes
The figures are compiled from community announcements and shown only as anonymous totals. Each simcha is dated by the week it was first announced.
- Privacy: no names, addresses or personal details are published. Categories with fewer than 3 cases are grouped as “Other”.
- Percentages are left blank for any month or group with fewer than 5 simchas (for example a part-month at the very start of the data), so a single case never shows as 100%.
- Chasidus / communities: each shul was categorised shul by shul by a community member (the project author): Satmar 86, Satmar 26, Belz 99, Belz (Belz), Bobov, Bobov-45, Vizhnitz (89 / Merkaz / Monsey), Gur, Skver, Chabad, small chasidus, non-affiliated or yeshiva. These are separate values in the “Chasidus” dimension and are combined only in “Chasidus family”. At buildings shared by several communities the shul name printed on the notice decides; shuls he left blank use an automatic rule (marked “auto”), and a chasidus named without a number stays in its own “unspecified” line. There is no “home kiddush” category: a boy's simcha at home is a shalom zachar, counted as “No shul printed”. The full shul → community table, and births per community with an optional inference for boys whose notice prints no shul, are on the Communities page.
- Weddings and engagements: engagements and weddings are shown separately; a couple that got engaged and married within the data appears in each. Out-of-town counts (chosson's or kallah's town) use the same one-row-per-couple data.
- Venues: the place printed for each shalom zachar, girls' kiddush, bar mitzva kiddush and oifruf is classified as own home, parents' home, in-laws' home, other private home, shul, hall or not stated (see the Venues page). Nothing is filled in where the paper prints no venue.
- Areas: towns are grouped into areas (e.g. Stamford Hill core, NW London, Essex) for the “area group” views; “London (or no town printed)” means no other town was given.
- Dates: the date filter at the top of every page limits all charts, tables and downloads to the range you choose.
- The data are extended year by year and may contain small reading errors; corrections are made as they are found.

About this project
The Kol Mevaser Data Project is a long-term look at how the Stamford Hill community has grown and changed over the past twenty years.
It brings together community life events (births, bar mitzvos and weddings) and turns them into clear, anonymous statistics.
What you can explore
- How the community has grown over time
- Patterns by year, month and season
- Differences between communities and areas
- How Stamford Hill compares with other places
Privacy
Everything shown here is grouped into totals. No names, addresses or personal details are published.
